A long time ago in japan, these cups were used as measure (masu 升). Now there are used as a glass for drink some sake, or as decoration, or as plate for small food...
The kanji (寿 kotobuki) on the red cups means : long life, congratulation.
The kanji (福 fuku) on the black cup means : good fortune, weal.
